Bound Together: The Book Drive That Lifted a Community

 

It’s the little book drive that could! In today’s episode, host Michelle Marques heads to Russian River Books and Letters, an independent bookstore in Guerneville to talk about literacy, schools, community, and the things that connect us. Parent Christie George wanted to help Monte Rio School, so she reached out to Principal Liza Eichert with an innovative idea. This book drive was online, but instead of relying on a giant retailer, the effort not only helped the students and teachers fill their bookshelves, but also supported local, independent bookseller, Michael Rex.
