
At 6:41 a.m., Santa Rosa police officers responded to a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a SMART train at the area of Piner Road and the SMART railroad tracks, according to police.
The Santa Rosa Fire Department and additional medical personnel also responded to the collision.
At the scene, the woman was found south of Piner Road near the railroad tracks.
According to police, she was unresponsive and suffering "major, life-threatening injuries" before she was transported to a hospital.
