photo credit: City of Santa RosaThe city of Santa Rosa will start accepting candidate nomination applications for people interested in running for the district 2, 4 and 6 seats in the November general election.
Currently, Mark Stapp represents District 2, Victoria Fleming represents District 4 and Jeff Okrepkie represents District 6.
Incumbent District 4 council member Victoria Fleming said she will not be running for another term. District 4 covers parts of downtown, as well as the McDonald Avenue, Junior College, Hidden Valley and Fountaingrove neighborhoods.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, not in prison or on parole for a felony conviction, registered voters and residents of the district they want to represent at the time nomination papers are issued and throughout the term, if they're elected, which is four years, according to city officials.
Nomination packets are issued by the City Clerk's Office at 100 Santa Rosa Avenue. Office hours are between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and every other Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
