The Montecito Avenue Oliver's Market store. At least five people were injured when a vehicle crashed into a market in Santa Rosa on Friday morning, a police spokesperson said.
The crash was reported at 11:48 a.m. at Oliver's Market, located at 560 Montecito Center in the Montecito Shopping Center. A car crashed into the front of the building and ended up in the check stand area of the market, Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Patricia Seffens said.
In a press release issued Friday early afternoon, SRPD Sgt. Matt North wrote, "Upon arrival, officers located a dark red Hyundai Tuscon that had collided with the front of the building."
The adult driver remained at the scene after the crash, while five people who had minor to moderate injuries were taken to a hospital in stable condition, Seffens said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the market will be closed for the rest of the day Friday.
